Data You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the result. Cabarrus County Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries on its own servers. When you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Information
Our host may create standard server logs, including an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand general use. Basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement may use cookies or similar technology.
How We Use Information
We use limited data to operate the service, address technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the information presented. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
Outside Websites
Links may lead to Cabarrus County or North Carolina records portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search services. Those destinations apply their own privacy notices to information you submit. This includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Who Can Process Data
Hosting and support providers may process server-log information for us. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic information described above. We disclose data when required by valid legal process and do not otherwise release it.
Data Security
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes stated here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored by Cabarrus County Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data can depend on where a visitor lives. The research for North Carolina did not identify a generally enacted consumer data-broker deletion statute. North Carolina Session Law 2025-79, the Personal Privacy Protection Act, protects specified nonprofit member, supporter, volunteer, and donor information from public-agency disclosure; it is not a general deletion right for public resident records. We retain very little visitor data, so a request normally involves reviewing the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to make a request.
North Carolina Public Records Act provisions in N.C.G.S. Chapter 132 govern many records held by state and local public agencies, including Cabarrus County custodians. They do not give this private reference control over an agency's record. A correction or removal request for a deed, voter record, court file, parcel record, or other official record must go to the office that holds it. The Register of Deeds, Land Records, Board of Elections, Clerk, or relevant state agency can address its own record.
Policy Updates
Any revision will appear in this policy. Continued use after the revision is posted means you accept the updated terms.
